A middle-aged woman in Suka Damai Village, Sei Bamban District, Serdang Bedagai Regency died after being stabbed by her husband while singing with her family.

In fact, the victim, known as Hertalina br Simanjuntak, was stabbed by her husband while a live broadcast on Facebook was taking place.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Sergai Police, AKP Donny Simatupang said that the victim suffered 5 stab wounds after being stabbed by her husband, Agus Herbin Tambun.

"Yes, the incident occurred at night, precisely on Saturday, November 2, where the victim was enjoying karaoke with her family when she was suddenly stabbed by her own husband from behind," he said, Sunday (3/11/2024).

In the 32-second live video recording, the family who were in the house were seen screaming in fear when Agus stabbed his own wife.

After stabbing his wife, Agus immediately ran out of the house.

Meanwhile, the family immediately took the victim's body to Chevani Hospital.

Unfortunately, the victim's life could not be saved.

The Sergai Police Opsnal Team, who received the report, immediately moved to arrest the perpetrator.

Less than 24 hours later, Agus was arrested while hiding in his relative's house in Pon Village, Sei Bamban District.

"We have now successfully arrested the suspect, along with the knife used to stab the victim," he said.

Based on the results of the investigation, it was discovered that Agus was determined to carry out the action because he felt jealous and hurt towards the victim, who was considered to have often had relations with her ex-husband.

"During the examination, the perpetrator admitted that his actions were driven by hurt and jealousy, feeling that Hertalina often had relations with her ex-husband. He also explained that the knife he used belonged to Hertalina, which was usually used to cut oranges," he said.

The suspect has now been secured and is undergoing further examination at the Sergai Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
