A man kidnapped and tortured his 24-year-old wife and three daughters, 4, 7, and 9, over the weekend.

Videos of the wife being tortured were shown on WhatsApp groups Friday night.

When police arrived, the suspect saw their boat, and fled into a wooded area, taking the wife and children hostage.

Intensive searches began Friday night. On Saturday night, around 7 p.m., the 9-year-old was released. Police stated that bad weather made it difficult to capture the suspect, and that he knows the region well.

At 7 a.m. Sunday, the rest of the victims were freed and taken to hospital. They have bruises on their bodies and are psychologically traumatized.

The police stopped the search for the suspect just three hours later. There is a no-contact order in place.
