The man, recently deported from the US, loitered in the area for days, drank a beer in front of the house, and then murdered the woman and her partner.

Selis, aged 46, and her partner, Luis, were murdered by a man who, according to witnesses, had been the woman's ex-partner and had recently returned to the country after being deported from the United States.

The assailant arrived at the grocery store across the street from the victim's home, parked, calmly drank a beer, and minutes later headed toward the alley where he intercepted the couple. It was there that he opened fire on both of them, killing them instantly.

After the attack, the individual entered the victim's family home, where Selis's mother and her minor daughter were. The teenager managed to lock herself in a room when she heard the gunshots.

The attacker tried to break down the door, even shooting at the lock, but couldn't get in.

Neighbors in the area reported that the atmosphere had been tense for several days , as the man had been seen lurking around.

"He had been lurking around the house for three days. She had mentioned it; the family was scared, " said one neighbor.

According to relatives, Selis had already received threats from the attacker, but she didn't file a complaint out of fear.

"She didn't want trouble; she was afraid that if she reported him, it would get worse," family members said.

She was the mother of three children, two of whom lived with her and her mother. Her eldest son lives abroad.
