A homicide was reported on the morning of last Monday, May 5, in a bar located in Sítio Pimenta, a rural area of Amaraji, in the Zona da Mata Sul region of Pernambuco. The victim was identified as José André da Silva Ângelo, 22 years old, known as “Café”, from Ribeirão. According to the police, the young man had already served time for drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm.Four people who were at the scene at the time of the crime were taken to the police station to provide statements. Two men, aged 26 and 31, and two women, aged 30 and 31, were questioned as witnesses and released shortly afterward.The owner of the bar, Cícero Manoel de Santana, 53 years old, was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm. He confessed to having hidden a .32 caliber revolver in the backyard of the establishment, stating that the weapon belonged to the victim. The businessman remains in custody awaiting a custody hearing.During the investigation, a 9mm pistol magazine with 15 rounds of ammunition were found in the victim's pocket, two spent .38 caliber cartridges in front of the bar, and the .32 caliber revolver with five rounds of ammunition nearby. Also seized were 19 portions of marijuana, an unmarked motorcycle, and five cell phones.As of Tuesday morning, May 6, no one had been arrested as the perpetrator of the homicide. The Civil Police are continuing to investigate the case.
