A t man in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district was recently beaten to death allegedly by a liquor mafia for not purchasing liquor from the outlet being operated by them. The incident has sparked a loud political controversy in the state now, with the opposition targeting the BJP government.A group of people, on May 14, forcefully took the victim Rameshwar Valmiki to a secluded place while he was returning home and attacked him, according to the police. He was hung upside down and brutally beaten up.After Valmiki fell unconscious, he was taken to a private hospital in Haryana where he was declared dead. Thereafter, the accused allegedly threw his body outside his home, sources said.
