LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville Metro Police released body cam video Tuesday showing an officer shoot a man armed with two guns as he tried to carjack a woman in a drive-thru at Walmart.

On Aug. 28, a Kentucky State Police trooper was in a vehicle pursuit that ended with a collision at Outer Loop and New Cut Road around 12:15 p.m.

One man in the car was arrested by the trooper, later identified by court documents as Jeremy Bozarth, 44, of Louisville. Another person in the car, Randall Allen, who LMPD Interim Chief Paul Humphrey said was armed with two guns, ran toward the Walmart at that intersection.

In the footage, Allen, 36, is seen running inside the Walmart. He takes off an orange shirt and leaves it behind in an aisle, according to police.

Allen then runs outside of the store.

“Be advised, he is reaching,” LMPD officer Brandon Brinkley says on the video.

Allen then goes into a passenger seat of a car in the drive-thru at the pharmacy, which is shown on Walmart surveillance footage.

Police are heard making verbal commands for Allen to get out of the car. The van starts to move forward and then stops. Police said Allen was pressing on the gas with his hand while the driver kept her foot on the break.

A woman in the driver’s seat is heard screaming as Brinkley fires shots through the front windshield of the vehicle.

Allen was shot multiple times. Police surrounded the vehicle and pulled him out. Police said he had a handgun in his pocket.

Allen is expected to survive.
