A 61-year-old man was shot in the stomach after trying to attack delegate Lícia Juliane Paiva, from the Civil Judiciary Police, in Pontes e Lacerda. The case happened this Saturday (7) and was recorded by security cameras, and the police chief reported the situation shortly afterwards in a video posted on social media - see at the end.

The situation began when the man tampered with the body of an S10 pickup truck, an unidentified Civil Police vehicle. The police report recorded by the deputy states that the man was trying to break into the vehicle.

The deputy came out of a store where the vehicle was parked in front. With a gun in hand, Paiva ordered the man to leave the vehicle. From the images, it is possible to see that the deputy actually puts the gun away to talk to the suspect.

In addition to not obeying the deputy's orders, the man hits the police car and hits the police officer. He tries to grab the deputy's gun and the two get into a physical fight until a shot is fired into the suspect's stomach.

People at the scene helped to immobilize the man until the Fire Department arrived. He was taken to Hospital Vale do Guaporé and is stable.

The deputy was injured with a cut on her left eyebrow, injuries to her left leg, left foot, abrasions to her thighs, neck and chest area. She was also taken to the hospital and later released.
