High Definition video showing thermal disposal of two C4 Trident I second stage rocket motors in Utah. Each rocket motor contains approximately 18,000 pounds of HD 1.1 propellant (this means it has the potential to detonate and create a large shockwave). During these disposals a B2 Bomber was conducting a test to evaluate the effects of flying through the shockwave created by the detonation. The first detonation shockwave hit the camera so hard that it knocked the tape off of the recording heads causing a skip. The second detonation looks perfect. If you watch closely you will see a shadow of the shockwave move across the ground before it hits the camera. Turn up the sound and enjoy.
