Karen Dayana González Ortega, 19, was stabbed to death in a house in the María Auxiliadora neighborhood of Morales, Bolívar. Her sister, Jenifer Ortega, was seriously injured when she tried to defend her from the attack.According to the authorities, the alleged perpetrator of the femicide is Karen Dayana's former partner, Julián Sánchez Orellano, who fled the scene after the attack. The National Police has launched an operation to locate him.Investigations indicate that Sánchez Orellano entered Karen Dayana's home and repeatedly attacked her with a sharp weapon. The community claims that the young woman had already been a victim of previous abuse by Sánchez Orellano, due to her refusal to resume the relationship.In the midst of the attack, Jenifer Ortega tried to defend her sister, but was also wounded with the same knife in the right forearm. Both women managed to escape from the attacker and seek help at a public establishment, but Karen Dayana did not survive the injuries and died on the spot. Jenifer Ortega is receiving medical attention at the Local Hospital of Aguachica, Cesar.The Municipal Government of Morales issued a statement on the case and offered a reward of up to ten million pesos to anyone who provides information on the whereabouts of Sánchez Orellano.“We stand in solidarity with the Ortega González family in this situation. We demand justice and offer a reward of up to $10 million pesos to anyone who provides information about the person responsible for this bloody act.
