In Odessa, on June 2, a tragedy occurred - a 20-year-old policewoman, who came on vacation, was washed away by a powerful wave into the sea. The tragedy occurred right on Arcadia, when a guy was photographing her. The police said that the girl did not survive, and rescuers are still searching for her body.

Stunning footage of eyewitnesses to the incident and why no one could help the girl - in a TSN.ua exclusive. Artem Zyabkin said.

The video from the surveillance camera in Odessa Arcadia clearly shows that there is a storm at sea, but tourists did not seem to be very worried about this. On the contrary, in search of a good shot, the girls come closer and closer to the edge of the pier. Unfortunately, 20-year-old Olesya Oleschuk was not afraid to approach the wayward sea. Suddenly a big wave knocked her off her feet. The girl fell and seemed to hit her head. Then the rushing water carried her away.

No one could save the drowned woman.

But it was already useless to do anything. Such waves would have broken anyone who tried to help the girl. The police are confident that the girl died. At the time of recording the video, divers are looking for her body, but so far they have not been able to find Olesya.

As the media write, on June 1, the girl arrived from Rivne to Odessa on a long-awaited vacation.

In her hometown, she worked as a police officer. The State Emergency Service asks Odessa residents and guests of the southern capital not to neglect water safety rules under any circumstances, because it is precisely such negligence towards oneself and others that often leads to tragedies. State Emergency Service divers are still searching for the body of 20-year-old Olesya in the Black Sea.

You can't swim in Odessa yet. The beach season there has not yet officially opened. Beaches in the region are checked for suitability and safety. Odessa and the entire region are under constant enemy attack, so explosive objects, including anti-ship mines, may be washed up on the coast, as happened in the past.

In the summer of 2023, only six beaches were officially open in Odessa.

“It wasn’t much, there were six beaches where all the appropriate conditions were in place: they were examined for explosive devices, they had bomb shelters and simple shelter nearby, they were constantly monitored for the arrival of dangerous explosive objects. Then there were six beaches that met this standard. Today we are also working on this “In the coming days, an order will be signed to open 20 such beaches,” said Oleg Kiper, head of the Odessa OBA.
