At around 9 pm on Wednesday, July 17, a man entered a commercial establishment in the Meissen sector, in the Ciudad Bolívar district, in the south of Bogotá, and used a knife to attack a couple who were having a party there. The man died and the woman is seriously injured in a health center in the area.

According to the versions given to the authorities by some witnesses, the criminal arrived at the scene in a taxi-type vehicle and entered the bar, where he attacked the man and the woman with a knife and, after committing the crime, fled in the same car in which he arrived.

Immediately, some people tried to help the victims and took them to the Meissen hospital, which is located just a few blocks from the scene of the incident.

The medical team tried to save the man's life, but he died at the institution's facilities; while the woman, apparently, remains stable, but had to undergo surgery due to the complexity of her injuries.

“In the town of Ciudad Bolívar, it seems that a man harassed a couple who were having a party in a commercial establishment, attacking them with a sharp weapon. As a result of this incident, two victims were injured today, one of them with serious injuries that caused her death, the other, who is female, is in the Meissen hospital recovering ,” he assured that the events are subject to investigation.

Gonzáles also said that among the first hypotheses being considered in relation to this crime, there is talk of a crime of passion, however, the results of the first investigations are still awaited to corroborate or deny this version. The place was closed for several hours while the relevant proceedings were carried out on the events.
