The incident occurred in the early morning hours of May 20 in the Richmond Avenue area, southwest of Houston. According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a report of a shooting and found a man unconscious with gunshot wounds outside a business. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene.Telemundo Houston identified the victim as Oscar Espinosa Osoria, a 38-year-old Cuban immigrant, and reported that his body was found inside a car parked in front of a barbershop on Richmond Avenue.Authorities identified Emilio Fuentes Cuellar, 45, as a suspect. He faces murder charges in the 495th District Criminal Court. According to HPD, Cuellar had not been apprehended at the time of the official statement and remains at large.Houston police are asking for the community's help in locating him. Anyone with information is asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.FOX 26 Houston also reported that the shooting occurred at a shopping center on Richmond Avenue and Ocee Street, and that Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that helps locate the suspect.According to Telemundo Houston, relatives of the victim indicated that Oscar Espinosa and the suspect knew each other and that both were originally from Guantánamo, Cuba. In his hometown, loved ones mourned his death with candles, music, and a makeshift altar.The investigation remains open. So far, authorities have not publicly revealed what led to the shooting or whether there was any prior conflict between the victim and the accused.The crime has caused shock among the Cuban community in Houston and Guantanamo, where family and friends remember Espinosa as a cheerful, helpful, and beloved person.Meanwhile, Emilio Fuentes Cuellar remains at large. Police insist that any information, no matter how small, could be key to his capture and progress in the case.
