The accident occurred on September 3 on the Novosibirsk-Barnaul highway near the village of Beloyarsk. Two pedestrians crossed the road at the crosswalk. Cars in two rows stopped to let them pass, but then, as they went around stopped cars in the third row, the pedestrians were hit by a speeding Toyota Corolla. From the impact, the men scattered in different directions and fell on the road.
