Happened on April 13, 2024 near Kafue, Zambia

Rainford Kalaba (37), Zambian soccer player, was involved in a head on collision on route T2, between Kafue and Lusaka.

He was a passenger in a silver Mercedes. The female driver was identified as Charlene Mkandawire.

The car collided head on with a truck. It is unclear who drove onto the oncoming lane.

Charlene died on spot. Rainford was taken to a hospital in critical condition and reportedly is in a coma.

Funnily enough, it was earlier reported that Rainford had died. This turned out to be not true.
