A natural disaster of fallen trees occurred in Gianyar Regency . The latest, a fallen tree occurred in the Monkey Forest tourist area, Padangtegal Village, Ubud District, Bali, Tuesday, December 10, 2024.

The incident reportedly resulted in a number of people in the Monkey Forest tourist area being injured.

Even two foreign tourists (wisman) or foreign citizens (WNA) died in the falling tree incident.

In addition to the fatalities, one person was reported to have sustained serious injuries.

Based on data from the Gianyar Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) , the two victims who died were a female foreign national from France with the initials FJC (32) and a female foreign national from South Korea with the initials KH (42).

The bodies of the victims were placed at the Kenak Medika Ubud Hospital.

Meanwhile, the victim who was seriously injured was LS (43), a female citizen from South Korea.

The incident occurred at around 12.25 WITA, when a tree fell to the east and hit several visitors who were enjoying the panorama at the location.

According to an eyewitness, I Nyoman Lilir, the incident occurred suddenly while he was on duty monitoring the situation at the location.

The incident began when strong winds accompanied by heavy rain poured down on the area.

He said that if suddenly there was a strong wind accompanied by rain, he would hear a tree fall.

A large banyan tree near the Prajapati Temple fell to the east, hitting a pule and kresek tree, causing all three to fall at once.

The trees fell on tourists who were enjoying the panorama at the location.

Visitors or tourists ran in disarray, but some people took the wrong step, so they were hit by branches.
