This is the moment a scooter rider hits metal cables hanging from a crane arm in front of him and is sent crashing onto the road with his throat .

The fatal accident was captured on a passing car’s dashcam which shows the large yellow crane lorry coming out of a side road when the scooter rider surnamed Chiu fails to notice until the last moment.

Chiu, 69, appears to duck under the crane, avoiding the arm, but catches his neck on the hanging wire rope, which hooks him off his scooter and knocks his helmet clean off too in Taiwan’s western Miaoli County.
