A surveillance camera recorded their actions, which came after the car knocked the old woman off an electric motorcycle at an intersection in Anji County, east China's Zhejiang Province.

The car dragged the woman several meters before it bumped into a parked car and came to a stop at the side of the road.

After seeing the accident unfold before their eyes, about a dozen local residents rushed to lift the car and pull out the old woman.

"When the residents heard the old woman was still under the car, they went over there to lift the car. At that time I was calling the police and they were going to lift the car," said a witness.
