Shocking footage has emerged showing two police officers being surrounded and allegedly assaulted by a group of men following a routine traffic stop.

The PCs can be heard desperately shouting "You take one more step I'm gonna spray you!" during the ugly incident in a street in East London.

It left two officers with minor injuries and four people arrested for alleged offences including assaulting police and obstruction, the Met said.

The row began when officers pulled over a car in Tower Hamlets.

Video shot from a balcony shows the officers struggling to restrain a man each between two cars.
