The head of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), Francisco Sánchez González, revealed that sanctions could be imposed on the director of the Huejotzingo Prison and the guards after they were involved in the physical assault of a person deprived of liberty (PPL).The state official explained that the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for reviewing municipal prisons like the one in Huejotzingo, and will therefore request a visit from the State Human Rights Commission (CDH) to review the director's and guards' actions to ensure that acts of violence against inmates are prevented."I'm going to ask the Human Rights Commission to join us so we can assist in the legal and human rights proceedings regarding the actions of the custodial staff and, of course, the director, so we can take the appropriate measures and verify the conditions of the detainees," he said.Francisco Sánchez acknowledged that the inmate's assault was documented in recent days, and therefore considered summoning the Undersecretary of Penitentiary Centers to conduct the corresponding investigation.
