In the midst of a celebration of love and friendship, Saturday night was the scene of a brutal act of violence in the Las Américas neighborhood, located in the south of Barranquilla.

Yesid Manuel Acosta Pedraza, 41, was the victim of a hitman attack while he was hanging out in the street with other residents of the area.

According to the preliminary report of the Metropolitan Police of Barranquilla, Acosta Pedraza was intercepted by two armed men who, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on him repeatedly. After shooting him, the gunmen immediately tried to flee the scene, but the motorcycle overturned, preventing their escape.

The community, witness to the crime, reacted with extreme violence. The two men who carried out the attack were quickly surrounded and attacked by the crowd. Blows, stones and other blunt objects ended up causing the instant death of one of the attackers. The identity of the lynched hitman has not yet been confirmed by the authorities.
