On Tuesday, Illinois State Police released body cam footage of an officer-involved shooting that took place in O’Fallon, IL, in August.According to a release, O’Fallon officers responded to the 600 block of W. Madison Street on August 29 at approximately 7:43 p.m.Once arriving, officers saw two people covered in blood running from Matthew Blanke, 53, who was holding a knife.One of the officers ordered Blanke to drop the knife, but he refused, and the officer fired several shots, striking Blanke. No officers were injured.Officers gave aid to Blanke, but he died at the scene.The two people injured were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.On November 25, the St. Clair County State Attorney’s Office announced there would be no charges pressed against the officer.
