A man was killed after an exchange of fire with the Military Brigade (BM) in Canoas , Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, this Monday morning (9). According to BM, the suspect tried to rob a scrap company on Avenida Boqueirão.

Upon leaving the scene, the man got into a vehicle and fled. A Military Brigade car was passing through the region and spotted the situation. According to BM, the police pursued the suspect and, at the next corner, there was an exchange of gunfire.

The man was injured and taken to the municipality's Emergency Hospital, but he couldn't resist. Two other people who were in the vehicle with him were arrested, according to police records. The suspect's identity has not been released.

Reports from residents of residences close to the site report that several shots were fired during the confrontation. A few shots hit a windowpane.
