Bronx: East 149th Street & Walton Avenue, a violent man released on parole just months ago is now wanted after three people were shot and two were killed in separate incidents across the Bronx and Brooklyn.

The suspect, 31-year-old Jesus Acosta, was released in April after serving 10 years behind bars for a 2015 Harlem subway shooting.

Early Tuesday morning, Acosta walked into a bodega on East 149th Street & Walton Avenue, opened fire and struck a 33-year-old customer. He then went behind the counter and emptied the register as a frightened cashier lay on the floor trying to avoid the gunfire. Acosta fled with the cash.

The victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he later died from his injuries.

Just after midnight Sunday, two men were shot inside American Best Wings and Pizza near Rockaway Avenue & Newport Street in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn. Officers from the

found a 44-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head and a 39-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Both victims were transported to Brookdale Hospital. The 44-year-old man was later pronounced dead, while the 39-year-old remains in stable condition.

Detectives say both shootings are connected to Acosta, who remains on the lose.
