In September 2025, married Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Sergeant Cheryl Lashai Clark allegedly shot her ex-lover, Clevean Lambert, multiple times in a police station parking lot.

Shooting details: Lambert was shot eight times in the parking lot of a MARTA police station after he reportedly tried to end the relationship.

Official response: While on duty, Clark claimed the shooting was in self-defense, but bodycam footage reportedly told a different story. Clark was terminated from her job but reportedly avoided criminal charges.
