It happened Sunday afternoon just before 2:30 on E. 153rd St and Grand Concourse right in front of Cardinal Hayes High School.

A woman reported being assaulted by a man - and when officers arrived, they quickly caught up to him.

Officials say the man pulled out a gun and pointed it at an innocent pedestrian - then at his own head, refusing to drop the weapon, despite repeated calls to do so.
