Police were called to a report of an aggravated burglary involving the use of a firearm in Whitefield at around 2.30am this morning (Wednesday 15 January 2025).

Officers from GMP’s armed response units swiftly attended the victim’s home within minutes of the report being made and officers from our Specialist Operations branch worked together proactively to quickly identify, locate and safely stop a vehicle suspected to have been used by the offenders. The vehicle was located on Manchester Road heading towards Whitefield and following a short pursuit, the occupants of the vehicle were quickly and safely apprehended by armed officers.

Two men aged 55 and 37 one woman aged 54 were all arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
