Two Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office deputies were flown to Tampa General Hospital after they were shot during an encounter with a suspect in Ruskin on Thursday, authorities said.

The shooting happened on West Shell Point Road. HCSO said the suspect was also shot and was transported to the hospital.

Additional updates will be provided as they become available, the sheriff's office said.
