A senior citizen died after hitting his head on the glass door of a shop in Chavakkad Manathala. Eighty-four-year-old Usman Haji, a native of Manathala, died. He is a retired Navy officer and an expatriate Malayali. He had come to the dry fruits shop to buy things. He quickly entered the shop without realizing that it was a glass door. As soon as he hit his head, he fell down. A deep cut on the back of the head. Immediately, Chavkatte was rushed to the hospital but remained unconscious. He was shifted to a hospital in Thrissur for expert treatment but could not be saved.
