According to other reports, the man—commonly known as Chiquinho—suffers from psychological issues and had committed a theft at a supermarket in Vila Rubim. He was pursued and attacked by a store inspector who, acting impulsively, grabbed a baton from a security guard, ultimately triggering the fatal incident.
