GALLATIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - Neighbors said they heard a huge boom and looked outside to see a fireball. A house in Gallatin exploded, leaving a man injured, after the fire chief says he was there to inspect the home’s appliances.“I heard this big explosion, and the whole house vibrated,” Lindsey Rogers, a neighbor, said. One neighbor tells us she walked outside to find a man in her driveway covered in blood and burns, but alive and talking. He is now in critical but stable condition at the hospital. The fire chief said he was the only one inside when the house exploded.“A gentleman came up, obviously very burnt, needing help. So I called 911, looked over and saw the house in flames,” another neighbor said. The fire chief said the house had just finished getting built and was going through it’s last inspection. The inspector was turning on the appliances when the house went up in flames.“It literally felt like somebody was driving their car through my garage. So I came out here, I heard somebody screaming, and so I went back inside, grabbed my son, grabbed my dog, and left,” Rogers said. The blast was so powerful it damaged four other homes around it. Rogers was scared another house would explode, so she grabbed her family and left.
