Revere police are searching for multiple people who recently assaulted and robbed a gas station employee in the Massachusetts city.

The incident happened shortly before 8:55 p.m. on Friday at the Gulf service station at 485 Broadway, according to police.

An employee of the Gulf station told Revere police that a group of people riding on motorized scooters pulled up to the gas pumps and purchased fuel for some of the vehicles.

Surveillance video shared by police shows the employee pumped fuel for those customers and, as he was walking back into the service station's office, one of the scooter riders approached him from behind and forcefully reached into his left pants pocket, stealing some money as more cash fell to the ground.

The video shows the Gulf employee confront that thief and another one of the scooter riders who approached them during the struggle. The first assailant got away, and as the employee engaged with the second rider, that rider threw a punch and shoved the employee to the ground.

Two more people who were part of that group are seen on the video running toward the office entrance and grabbing some of the cash that had fallen on the ground. The employee is seen confronting one of those people after getting to his feet, and that person then shoved him and slapped him in the face after grabbing a handful of money and fleeing the scene.

The group then fled the service station on the scooters and traveled northbound on Broadway.
