A 78-year-old man shot and killed one of the criminals who had intercepted him to rob him when he arrived at his home in the La Matanza neighborhood, Buenos Aires.

The victim of the attempted robbery, an Italian citizen, had parked his truck when a white 4x4 vehicle stopped abruptly and at least three assailants got out to attack him.

At that moment, the man drew his weapon, a Smith .357 caliber pistol, and shot one of the criminals, killing him instantly. The rest of the criminals immediately fled the scene, with the old man getting out of his truck to continue shooting at them.

The prosecutor assigned to the case confirmed that the old man will not be prosecuted, as the teenager's death was a clear case of self-defense. The other criminals remain at large.
