39-year-old woman was stabbed by her ex-husband on Friday morning (28/06) in Heliópolis, Belford Roxo. The crime was caught on video by a local, where it is possible to see the man fleeing with the knife in his hand after the attack. The woman was rescued, but did not resist and died in the hospital.

The man was identified as Eduardo Lima Barreto and the woman as Luciene da Silva. Immediately after the crime, locals chased the criminal, surrounding him and then capturing him. The police arrived at the scene and took him to the police station, seizing two knives that were in the criminal's possession. The crime took place on Tapirama Street.

According to sources close to the crime, the cause of the crime was femicide. Eduardo and Luciene had been in a relationship for eight years, but the woman had already tried to end the relationship. There were episodes in which Eduardo was aggressive and, therefore, had a protective order in force. Luciene leaves behind an 8-year-old son that she had with the killer during the relationship.

The attack happened this morning as the woman was waiting to clock in at work. The man approached her, claiming he just wanted to talk, but then stabbed her four times.

Luciene worked for the Municipal Government of Belford Roxo, which regretted the incident in an official statement.
