A man was brutally murdered on Friday morning (1st), in front of the municipal hospital in Inajá, in the Sertão region of Pernambuco.

The victim, identified as Gregório da Silva Neto, 34, had arrived at the health unit on the back of a motorcycle seeking medical attention after having been stabbed earlier.

According to reports, as he was trying to enter the hospital, the suspect, identified as João Paulo Pereira de Menezes, 33, arrived on another motorcycle. Upon noticing the assailant approaching, Gregório tried to run, but fell near the entrance of the unit and was attacked again.

The man was stabbed more than ten times and died at the scene before receiving medical attention.

After the crime, the suspect fled and has not yet been located. The motive for the murder is still unknown.

The victim's body remained in the hospital morgue until it was sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) in Caruaru.

The Civil Police of Pernambuco are investigating the case and conducting inquiries to locate the perpetrator of the murder.
