Kluang, Malaysia - An elderly man aged 70, suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car while he was filling up at a petrol station in Jalan Besar.

Kluang district police chief ACP Mohamad Laham said the incident occurred about 12 pm Sunday.

The victim, Mohamad Nasir Manas, was hit by a car driven by a 42-year-old woman.

"Initial investigations showed that the incident occurred when the driver lost control of her Proton Iswara, after her slippers got stuck on the accelerator pedal."
