A powerful explosion that occurred this Wednesday in a house in the Los Pinos sector of Arroyo Hondo resulted in the death of a father and his son, who were performing welding work when the blast occurred.

The deceased were identified as Juan Rafael Carmona Peña and Rafael Carmona , who were working on the repair of a metal structure in a house located on La Cuesta Street, number 2 , when, suddenly, a tank containing diesel fuel exploded , causing a devastating shock wave.

Witnesses reported that the explosion was so powerful it was heard in neighboring areas, causing alarm among residents. Minutes later, neighbors tried to extinguish the flames with whatever they could find while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
