A Lake City resident is asking for justice after he says a Hamilton County deputy knelt down on his neck at a high school game.

"I could have died easily, we've seen George Floyd," Lake City local activist and business owner Sylvester Warren said.

He shares that he was watching his niece play in a varsity basketball game at Hamilton County High School on Saturday, Dec. 17. That's when he says a Hamilton County Deputy attacked him. "I am just tore, mixed emotions, I am just tore to pieces over that, first I was just targeted," Warren said he has no recollection of what happened, until he saw the video on social media.

"All my recollection of the event is from the video footage, and to see him come down on my neck the way he did is just inhume and unjust," Warren said.

The Sheriff's Office says school officials called them to resolve some sort of altercation, but they had no details, and Warren tells a different story. "I had just left the concession stand buying all the young ladies Powerade because they left their drinks in Lake City," Warren said.

He says his niece's grandmother was with him and witnessed what happened. "She says the guy just said all you mf's have to leave, you all are going to go to jail and I am starting with you first, and he came up and snatched for me," Warren said.

Hamilton County Sheriff Harrell Reid says deputy Sam McDonald was just trying to restrain Warren. "I don't think you can compare this to any video that shows officers trying to injure, purposely injure a person, we didn't try to purposely injure him, we were trying to restrain him. So you know, I feel there is a big difference in that," Sheriff Reid said.
