Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. A 45-year-old worker at a plywood factory died tragically after attempting to climb a machine to free a jammed piece of wood. Suddenly, the wood broke loose and struck him directly in the head at high speed. The impact was so severe that the man—identified as Janak—lost consciousness instantly and fell to the ground. Although he was taken to the hospital, doctors were unable to save him.Factory management is being accused of gross negligence regarding safety; it is alleged that workers are not provided with helmets or other protective equipment.
