Guarapari, 1.2.24.Arthur Máximo da Cruz, 18, worked alongside his father in an automotive accessories store. He had just gotten off work, and was riding home on his motorcycle. He planned on taking a shower before attending a family party to celebrate an aunt's birthday.Arthur wouldn't make it. He had the right of way at an intersection, but was struck by a speeding driver who then struck a parked car, nearly killing a bicylist. Arthur caught some serious air we rarely see on a city street, and died on scene. The driver, João Victor Barroso Miranda, 23, and two others were hospitalized. Miranda admitted to drinking. Inside his Taos was a glass containing alcohol, and inside the trunk were several empty and full bottles of alcohol. He refused a breathalyzer, but failed motor tests. After his medical release, he was booked for murder, two attempted murders, and drunk driving.Arthur's family released his body 1.3.24, and most chose not to give interviews to the press. His uncle gave what little we know.
