Seattle Police arrested an armed suspect fleeing on a scooter in South Lake Union on June 15th.

At 8:23 p.m., patrol officers located a felony warrant suspect in the 200 block of Yale Avenue North. The man intentionally fled from police vehicles.

Multiple commands were given for the male to stop, yet he ignored them. Officers exited their vehicle and engaged in a foot pursuit of the suspect. While fleeing, he crashed the scooter and was taken into police custody.

Upon search incident to arrest, officers located evidence including a loaded handgun, $800 dollars in cash, and fentanyl narcotics.

The 30-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Narcotics, and Obstructing a Public Officer.

Detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit have taken lead on this case. Additional charges may follow as they complete their investigation.
