A couple was shot dead in the municipality of Capitão Poço, in the northeast of Pará. The crime took place on Friday morning (30), around 9 am.

Residents of the Eurico Siqueira invasion called the Military Police to report that a man and a woman had been shot dead inside a house in the “Cidade de Deus” community. Military police officers from the 10th Company went to the scene and identified the victims as Dorivalda Ferreira de Brito and Francisco Santos Silva. Residents of the area did not know or did not want to say how the double homicide had happened or who had committed it.

The motive is still unknown, but the Civil Police have not ruled out the possibility of a “settling of scores,” since one of the victims, Francisco, reportedly has a criminal record. Searches were carried out by the Military Police, but no suspects were found in the area. The community was left frightened.
