Fort Lauderdale, FL - Surveillance video shows 2 Fort Lauderdale police officers crashing into each other while on a call early Wednesday, the impact causing one of the squad cars to burst into flames.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of W. Las Olas Boulevard.

The impact of the crash sent both vehicles into the front parking lot of Westside Market. Fire starts to spark from one of the squad cars before the officer jumps out to check on the other officer involved.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene and transported both officers to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Photos released by fire rescue officers showed both vehicles with heavy damage outside a convenience store. Crews were seen later Wednesday morning putting up support columns to secure the building's overhang.

Before the crash, the officers were responding to the area after receiving a request for assistance from the Broward Sheriff's Office.
