Cranston police on Tuesday released body-worn camera footage of the fatal shooting of a suspect in a triple-shooting in Johnston.Officers shot and killed James Harrison on Plainfield Pike on May 24 when he got out of a car and threatened police with a handgun.Cranston police said it released on its website 15 bodycam recordings of the encounter. Some of the video was redacted.Harrison was accused of fatally shooting his mother and a neighbor on Ligian Court. The neighbor’s 15-year-old daughter was injured.The night before, Harrison was accused by that neighbor of peeking in his daughter’s bedroom window.Police said officers were unable to make contact with Harrison that night. They returned to his home the next morning, apparently just after the shootings.Police said the girl identified the shooter as Harrison, and a "be on the lookout" notice was issued for the man.Harrison was spotted in Cranston, and police pursued him through Cranston, Johnston and Providence.The pursuit ultimately ended with the suspect crashing into a rock on Plainfield Pike near Interstate 295, where Harrison was surrounded by police.
