TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Video of a fatal officer-involved shooting in Tucson in April has been released. On Friday, June 12, the Pima Regional Critical Incident Team said the officer-involved shooting happened near South Park Avenue and East 36th Street. The TPD said officers were called to the area around 7:45 p.m. on April 10 because Luis Francisco Torres was armed with a knife and was acting erratically.Witnesses called 911 and said the 65-year-old Torres was “acting paranoid,” and officers said he was agitated and pacing near community members.Officers ordered Torres to drop the knife and then used pepper balls and a taser several times when he ignored the commands.Torres eventually fell down into a “seated position” against a fence. He put the knife in his lap, but allegedly picked it up again when officers approached. That is when Officer Reyna Flores, a four-year veteran of the Tucson Police Department, shot Torres. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
