A brazen Aussie skateboarder is lucky to be alive after coming just inches away from being mangled under the wheels of an SUV.The young man was captured on dash cam footage coasting confidently through a busy intersection in Newcastle, a two hour drive south of Sydney, last week. The spine-tingling footage shows the rider sail into the middle of two-way traffic and stumble off his board into the path of an oncoming vehicle.Thankfully, the man avoids colliding with the SUV and instead is seen falling heavily on his back and rolling a few times across the concrete. If the rider had fallen only a few seconds earlier he could have ended up underneath the wheels and died, with viewers acknowledging his lucky save.'Lucky skater boy, would have been much worse if he hadn’t fallen off!' one said.'Few seconds earlier and he'd be a bag of meat,' a second agreed.'I hope that guy realises just how lucky he is to be alive,' a third commented.'Great work by the DC driver. If they had been any less observant or reacted slower, the skater could have been under their front right wheel,' another said.Others said they hoped the brazen skateboarder had learnt his lesson after the near-death experience and would wear a helmet next time.'Hopefully he’s learned a lesson. Luckily no one else was injured,' one said.'I remember seeing a teenager do this exact same thing many years ago on a skateboard but unfortunately he did NOT make it and died in his mum's arms at the side of the road,' a second shared.'Some younger people truly believe they’re bullet-proof. This is how people die. He’s a very lucky young man. Hopefully he’s learned his lesson,' a third said.
