A 48-year-old man was killed and twenty four other people, including UPFA Uva provincial council candidate Sendil Thondaman were injured in an accident in Bandarawela this evening, police said.

The victims had been canvassing on foot in the Bandarawela area when Mr.Thondaman’s vehicle had ran them down when the driver accelerated the vehicle apparently by mistake.
