Around 2:50 pm on Thursday, September 21, popular hip-hop artist Foday Allieu, commonly known as Big Fish, was shot dead (neutralized) by a military officer around Lightfoot Boston / Gloucester Street in Freetown.

Head of Media, Public Relations, and Sports at the Sierra Leone Police, Assistant Commissioner Brima Kamara, told iVerify that Big Fish had allegedly snatched a rifle from a military officer attached to the United Bank of Africa on Charlotte Street in central Freetown. He says that after the late artist allegedly snatched the gun, he began shooting randomly.
