An 18-year-old young man was shot dead during a New Year's Eve party on Ponta de Pedras beach, in the municipality of Goiana , in Zona da Mata Norte of Pernambuco (see video above) . A 19-year-old man was arrested for having fired the shot, according to the Civil Police .

The case occurred in the early hours of Monday (1st), during New Year celebrations at one of the city's hubs. The crime was recorded by a security camera.

The images are strong and show a great rush inside an establishment, where there were many people, including children.

At that moment, the young man ran into the place, when he fell to the ground, tripping over a wooden pillar. According to police, he had already been shot before appearing in the images.

The case is investigated by the Goiana Sectional Police Station. According to police, the arrested suspect was sent to custody hearing.
