On the night of Monday, December 4, an intense shootout between military police forces and a group of criminals resulted in deaths in the area close to Avenidas Centenário and Gastão Vidigal, in Maringá. According to information from the Fire Department, five individuals died in the confrontation.

A motorcyclist who was passing by at the time of the events recorded the scene on his cell phone. The presence of police vehicles caught his attention, leading him to capture the beginning of the exchange of gunfire.

Initial reports from the Military Police indicate that the five men, who were in a car, opened fire on the officers, who promptly reacted. The criminals are linked to a series of serious crimes that occurred both in Maringá and in the neighboring city of Sarandi, including robberies and murders.

On Monday morning, the men were surprised during an attempted home invasion. According to the police, the objective was to murder the resident, who, luckily, was not at home.
