Paw Paw, MI - The tires of his car blown out and worn down to the metal wheels, a suspected bank robber from Indiana tried to stab himself with a knife as his getaway on I-94 was foiled by Michigan State Police, investigators said.

Video of the low-speed pursuit obtained by the Kalamazoo Gazette under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act shows Brian Standiford in the westbound lanes of I-94 just east of Lawrence as a trooper in a Chevrolet Tahoe tries twice to spin the car out and bring it to a stop following a Jan. 13 holdup at an Old National Bank branch in Portage.
